Tanks
The plans call for two diesel tanks, one holding and two water tanks. After fruitlessly trying to find some plastic tanks that would roughly fit the space under the floor I decided to build the tanks right into the boat. The interior fiberglass is made with vinylester resin and that is perfectly acceptable for tanks. All I had to do was add some baffles and create access holes into the tanks,
The picture shows the flanges where the tank top will be glued to, this is
going to be a diesel tank. I can't find a picture without the mess and dust,
probably because my whole world has been covered in this crud.
These are the lids for the access panels, I used a bunch of leftover glass to
make a 1/4" pancake and used a hole saw to cut the lids out.
Top view of the tank top, there is a access panel for each tank section and a
sending unit for the tank level gauge.
View from the top. There will be a removable teak and holly plywood floor to
allow for access later
