Fairing
Forever

After the fiberglass has hardened the basic hull shape is there but there are a lot of imperfections and the areas where the layers of glass overlap are higher than the rest of the hull. So it is back to fairing again.
At this point I intend to only fair the hull below the waterline because that part is on top now and "easy" to work on as opposed to doing it later and having to lay on my back, getting dust all over me if. I don't want to fair any more than that because the rest of the hull is fairly stiff after the glass is on but it still moves a little and it seems like a better bet to wait until the whole outside is complete and is glassed inside and out before fairing the whole hull. That is my story and I am sticking to it!

The first fairing compound I applied with a notched trowel to have less initial sanding to do.
I did the sanding with the long board that is laying on top of the hull.

After long boarding the grooves I filled the gaps with more epoxy mixed with micro balloons and cabosil and that got me pretty close to a "perfect" (to me) shape.

During the final fairing I added different colors to the fairing compound to make it easy to see where I added epoxy and to differentiate between the layers to help with the sanding

Alex is starting the fairing of the hull sides

I am starting the fun part (fairing overhead surfaces) first.

That's about it for the exterior fairing, here are a few pictures of the interior:
