After spending several month at the beginning of 2001 studying plans by all the known catamaran designers I narrowed it down to about three designs. I ordered study plans from these designers and another few weeks later I made my final choice with my wallet by buying a set of plans from Gary Lidgard. I picked his design for the 13 m (43ft) performance cruising catamaran.
