DAGGER BOARDS
April 2002
I had ordered the foam several weeks ago but that still hasn't arrived yet so I am going to build the dagger boards to keep busy. The dagger boards are made out of Western Red Cedar, vertical grain clear heart so that there is no warping down the line. After the wooden boards are build they will be glassed over with 4 layers of unidirectional and two layers of biax and will be vacuum bagged.
The lumber came as 2" x 10" boards 10 feet long and I cut them
down to roughly the profile of the board and then laminated them together using
a epoxy mixture.
The yellowish piece of plywood is the final shape of the wood and I am using
that as a guide for shaping it.

This one has been covered with glass and is in the process of being faired
